Hello Fellow Introverts!
My name is Ken! I am 26 years old and was born and raised in Massachusetts. I am a book lover, a gamer and Disney lover (I know, I know I am a Disney adult). I have a cute fur baby named Arya who I rescued with my boyfriend.
I have two bachelor’s degrees. One in Psychology and one in Sociology. I now work in a school alongside a therapist to help support children and give them tools to help with their social and emotional skills. My goal has always been to work in a school to help support children in reaching their goals.
Why?
Ever since I can remember, I have always had the feeling of worry. I could never shake the feeling no matter how much I tried. It wasn’t until I was 21 when I got diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and excoriation disorder. Now at the age of 26 I am still trying to understand these disorders and how I can manage them in my everyday life.
The reason I want to start this blog is to share my personal experiences of dealing with my disorders. By sharing my experiences, I hope I can help others who may be going through the same feelings and experiences that I am. If I can help even just one person I know I’ll be making a difference.
Alongside mental health, I also want to share my love for books and exploring. One of my hobbies that help me escape my anxiety is reading. I love sci-fi, fantasy, and thriller books. Every so often I will share books I have read and my personal reviews on them.
As for exploring, I have been having trouble with traveling due to my anxiety, but I have been pushing myself out of my comfort zone to places that give me anxiety. I want to take you on those journeys with me. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone is super uncomfortable at the moment, but when you’ve accomplished the fear it feels amazing.
Thank you for reading & I hope you stay for the journey!
Ken
